Ceramics
I got into engineering through ceramics — my siblings both excelled at wheel throwing, and it pushed me to find a creative path of my own. The work shown here comes from my senior thesis: stoneware–porcelain bodies with a blue celadon glaze. Nature has always been a reference point; I wanted to contrast that with the tradition of Korean celadon and porcelain. After throwing, I use water to erode the bone-dry forms, choosing different durations to show the transition from nature’s course to refined ceramic finish.
